For me, my comfort channels right now are all of Jimothy Cool’s channels, and Shortcat. Jimothy makes Pokemon videos, Shortcat makes Mario Kart videos.
Townsends. Whole vibe of a white guy larping as an 18th century colonist gives some kind of iffy vibes but beyond that I absolutely adore the channel
yeah but he doesn’t make it iffy though, he’s very respectful from what I can tell. He may or may not be chuddy irl, but it doesn’t matter imo because it doesn’t come through in the videos.
He at least seems to be cool and not racist. (cw meat) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwkRWIwZ43A
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
A Chinese woman who fixes her neighbors’ broken machinery, often farming equipment. Her workshop is an open mostly-outdoor space, so her videos’ sound are the sounds of various tools with a background of nature. Here’s one of her shorter videos (a lathe repair, appropriately enough) to give you a good idea of her typical video style.
Oh that was great. Thanks!

Jacob Geller
Came in here just to make sure he got a mention. Jacob Gellar is phenomenal. I also like Noah Caldwell Gervais a lot. He has a ton of super long and in depth videos that manage to actually stay interesting for several hours (some of his videos are loooooooooooong)
Noah’s 8 hour Resident Evil series retrospective is perfect sleep material, or for a long boring shift.
Nobody has any right to be able to make video essays as long as his that actually justify their obscene length and yet he pulls it off every damn time.
Also his road trip videos are great
I’m not totally sure I understand the definition of cozy but noted streamer Nor Thernlion makes the only good content on youtube/twitch
He’s bald!?
if you like pokemon, there’s a guy called jrose11 that’s been systematically seeing which gen 1 pokemon can solo the game the fastest. there’s a pretty large backlog at this point, and the strategies get pretty inventive at points.
I love Jrose!
Yeah Pokemon be my special interest, I watch quite a bit of Pokemon YouTube
jimothy
ok this is insane. we’re gaming folks
Heracross has broken into my home and murdered me with a swarm boosted cb megahorn. This is insane
If you like obscure game reviews but also like them to be mellow and pleasant, like you were just invited in for tea and cookies, try Hungry Goriya.

Clickspring makes absolutely beautiful clockwork machining videos.
Technology connections is just some nerd talking about old technology and it’s super chill.
I really like techmoan for this kinda content, but he feels a bit more dad like for me
great thread idea OP, we need this
I like Techmoan because he’s a 50+ Br*tish guy who looks like the world’s most stereotypical office worker, but he loves 80s and 90s hip hop.
Enchanterium, are 2 sisters who make fashion dolls
Little Chinese Everywhere makes wholesome travel videos, mostly about China and other Asian countries but also other places.
Seconded! I really like to watch her videos when I want to relax, plus I get to learn so much about different Chinese provinces.
Summoning salt and All things lost are some favorites of mine. Lost media and speed running make brain go brr
There’s a channel of a family that live in the countryside in Azerbaijan. It’s just farming and cooking - no talking at all. Pure bliss.
Ooh this sounds good
If you like gardening content there’s also the weedy garden. He used to be a photographer before covid and moved into gardening and videography when we went into lockdown. I love his videos and his energy, he is pure Australian hippie vibes.
