And ofc their only source is the junk science from the Cass review. Death to Britain and its entire child murdering ruling class.

I see. I think Wes Streeting should play Luigi’s Haunted Mansion. In central park. In Minecraft. To use his status as a gay man like this makes me fucking nauseated.

I hope he shows up at pride without bodyguards and sees what happens.

On a positive note every Trans person in the UK is an involuntary socialist revolutionary now. (The three that were not already)

Honestly fuck the UK government with a caesium cheese grater. Trans people, look to your own defense, we are with you and we will do what we can.

    A better world is possible.

Everyone involved in this decision deserves a slow, painful death. I hope every single one of them suffers in intense agony that no one can possibly imagine.

None of these people are practising doctors.

All of them have pushed the lie that too much oestrogen turns into testosterone.

Not one of these people has spoken to a trans person.

This is fucking shit but I don’t wanna doom so… to any British trans peeps we need to look at what we can do now.

Medicine might be out but we can still protect their right to live as themselves in school because they’ll come for that next.

There isn’t a trans person alive who isn’t thankful to transition regardless of timing.

What these kids have is a chance still to be themselves in school and grow and bloom as who they are, not what starmer expects.

We can’t change the British government, but we can still impact change to make life easier for them.

I’ve spoken at schools with faculty to help encourage and enable pro trans schooling/school life to try and give these kids a better start. I will be doubling my efforts going forward in light of this.

This is all we have to give them right now and it’s not fair.

One final thing I think ALL trans people could benefit from is cutting down the self hating dysphoria around others. Dysphoria is not self harm, it’s a suicide vest that takes everyone around you with it.

If these kids are going to make it to 18 then they need to be shown that blockers or not, they can still be the man, woman or enby they are.

They will be lurking in forums, they will be on discord, they will be trying to learn what they can do. They will be looking to us as hope that they can be happy given the hand starmer just dealt them.

Lets try to show them they can be happy and live as themselves, cut the dysphoria, cut the doomerism. Show these kids that their futures have hope.

It’s big time hours now. We need to be role models.

Being a practicing doctor should honestly be an immediate disqualification for providing HRT rofl. It’s gotta be inversely correlated with good transitional healthcare results at this point.

Being our own role models & living as yourself during school means underground creation and distribution of HRT to youth btw, not dissociating all the dysphoria away and pretending everything is gonna be OK.

good post! doctors are by and large our enemies (and tbh, the enemies of all working and oppressed people). more folks must understand this! “not all doctors” rhetoric should be derided in the same way as if someone was defending cops or landlords. heartening that this is a space that doesn’t put up with that shit.

I assume this is in good faith. obviously people with expertise are needed for that role. but the concept needs a revolutionary overhaul. the role doctors currently play which is not only completely useless but actively harmful is as the gatekeepers of livesaving medicine (like HRT) as well as other health interventions like specialist or psychiatric care. they don’t need to be doing that. doctors in capitalism are also largely privileged people from well off backgrounds, are overwhelmingly cisgender, and often come to be members of a labour aristocracy or, in the cases of GPs, outright petty bourgeoisie. so not only is there a guy gatekeeping your meds (and taking your money for doing so) he is also your class enemy. I could talk a lot more about this, like how doctors are put on a pedestal the way priests were last century and supposed to know everything and guide society. no fuck that doctors are literally some guy and mostly they’re idiot assholes too for reasons outlined above.

Yeah I can understand that, and the modern medical profession is definitely shaped by the capitalist profit motive with all the fuckery that entails. It was mostly the inclusion of landlords that had me confused, since landlords are a profession we can all agree does no useful work and serves no legitimate purpose.

some people do defend landlords as being somehow good or useful though, just not in this space. less people are on board with doctors being evil so i decided to throw the comparison in to illustrate how I have been made to feel about them as a trans person. and I think it’s a fairly close one actually, both roles involve exploiting those worse off for their money by leveraging a monopoly on a basic necessity of life. at least in the case of GPs specifically

extracting value from those worse off by leveraging a monopoly on a basic necessity of life.

Oh, fuck. When you put it this way, it clicks.

Existing emergency measures banning the sale and supply of puberty-suppressing hormones will be made indefinite, following official advice from medical experts.

Everyone who is responsible for this atrocity deserves the Alan Turing-treatment. Just so they can catch a small glimpse of the torture and suffering that they’re forcing trans children to go through.

Healthcare’s devolved, and puberty blockers are just banned under NHS England as far as I’m aware. So as bleak as this is, there might still be some loopholes to get them to kids that need them.
