I never know what to study before exams that are so broad a subject.
I know the answer is going to be “study all of it” but I like to be efficient.
just point at things and say “that’s a plant”. If anyone takes issue, ignore them, bend down to scrutinise your plant and say “hmm, sessile” really thoughtfully, that way they’ll know you’re the real deal.
I wanted to do some quip about monoecious/bisexual flowers being perfect but then I got stuck reading about the alternation of generations for the first time instead? What the fuck are plants even
Oh hell yeah I can’t fail now
I’m sorry I have nothing constructive to add I hope it goes well you got this
Honestly the morale boost of saying “you got this” is helpful
oh you for sure got this
Alternation of generations is so cool, though. The main trend in plant evolution has been the steady reduction in the gametophyte, but to what end?
make a list of 5 plants that will get you high
Glancing over my course choices of evolutionary biology and biopsychology
Label this diagram of a beanis
uuuuuh fabaceae? Eudicot?
My last botany exam had a lot of longform essay questions about successional process and ecological interactions from memory, sorry I don’t have a copy available
- this was a 3rd year subject on australian vegetation fwiw

Cause like, the 1 guy interested in naming plants and their parts was a massive perv. See also: Clams and bivalves.
hmm yes 'cause everything is vulgair!! sniff sniff
My guess is questions about plants and shit.
Real answer probably some basic stuff about their reproductive systems, some stuff about their cellular makeup, and various pollination mechanisms, root systems, probably different leaf types and waxy vs soft leaves and their evolutionary roots. It’s been a looooooong time since my field biology days but if you want I could probably come up with more.
oooOOOH GOD WHAT THE HELL IS A PLANT?!?!
(Jk thank you I think I’m on the right track then)
As I said in my edit I used to be in the field and I could probably come up with a helpful study guide if given a bit more info.
Ty, I’ll focus on lifecycles and anatomy, I think that’ll be enough
oooOOOH GOD WHAT THE HELL IS A PLANT?!?!
A featherless uniped?
Define symplast, apoplast, cation exchange, quenching (wrt photosynthesis), PAR, and water potential. Other stuff, probs, plant physiology was a while ago for me.
What color is chlorophyll
There are three kinds
EDIT: Woah wtf I just looked it up and there are actually like 6 types
I think you’re good
Krebs krebs krebs cycle! It’s all I remember.
Wait, how different is botany from biology? Maybe you should study shades of green.
