My little brother just died. They found him dead on his back porch. Doesn’t look like any foul play was involved, but there was a ton of Unisom and Phenibut in his apartment.

I’d never heard of it before today.

I’m so sorry to hear that, phenibut is a really dangerous drug to get addicted to

It’s a Soviet medication for anti-anxiety and prescribed in Eastern Europe. Somewhat similar to Xanax except it agonizes a different GABA receptor

The effects can be described as all the positives of alcohol and Xanax with none of the negatives. Lower anxiety, higher sociability, euphoria, heightened senses, but you don’t risk blacking out or losing major control of your motor skills

The withdrawals however, are severe and can be fatal

I didn’t realize it had all of those recreational effects, I had always heard it used as a nootropic.

He had other GABA stuff in there, he also ad an empty gabapentin scrip for his cat sitting out.

There were a couple other bottles of things you could buy online as “supplements” that were just GABA activators. He also had a lot of Cordicin, Benadryl, and Dulcolax.

Whatever he was doing it was probably some combination of all of those. He was not very healthy to begin with and had chrons.

It also seems like he might have snorted crystals of the Penibut.
