Only thing missing is a little capitalist with a top hat you can tie to the rails.
They make Sir Topham Hat action figures
damn that train set is fire. It even got little windmills.
There is one with a 720° spiral but is unrealisti
That must be why there are so many autistic communists, too. Trains were never a special interest of mine, but I get it.
My toddler likes to watch steam train compilations. No commentary or anything just videos of old trains usually at museums. I must be doing something right
Do they like those videos filmed from the conductor POV?
No they mostly like the side view with lots of steam coming out
chugCHUGchugChugchucgchugCHUGGACHUGGA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yeah put them on a dose of cabride videos. Japan had cabride videos for almost every railway line in the country, as long as you search them in Japanese.
I watched one from Norway and one from Switzerland. Great videos
Your toddler has good taste

It’ll be like WTYP but even better and much less lib
I loved my wooden trains when I was a kid, I think my parents still have them for when the grand kids come around. I remember staring wistfully through Thomas the Tank Engine catalogues at the cool playsets like the crane and locomotive shed. Then I graduated to Lego trains, those I still have in a box in my closet. Now I’m dreaming of having the space for an HO layout, I picked up a bunch of track, a couple locomotives, and some rolling stock at a thrift store a year ago since I couldn’t let a find like that pass me by. Maybe once I have more time this summer I’ll put together a small shelf switching layout, though I’ll have to find a smaller locomotive and maybe some shorter rolling stock to make it work
Shelf switching is fun.
I probably would have gotten more into model railroading but what I’ve discovered is that I like the scheduling parts the most, and I got bored making scenery. My childhood model railroad had a weekly switching list but the scenery was never completed. That’s why I got so into OpenTTD.
OpenTTD sounds neat, I’ll have to check that out. But I also love the modeling part, I’ve always loved building little things like that so I might just focus my energies on a small switching layout. I’d love to be able to do continuous running but that’ll have to be in the future
This was my favourite thing to play with at school when I was a kid
Wooden trains were the best. I had a whole collection.
Ironic how aside from kids, it’s mostly the labor aristocracy that has time and money for model trains.
