I announce that his folk hero status has now been revoked.

ban-hammer

Just another jilted alt right dude who was fine when he thought the system was for him and then got burned and lashed out.

No praxis, only edge and entitlement.

My authority to decide this? None, don’t @ me.

I’m just gonna put some gripes with other posts/comments I’ve seen today here. Luigi is clearly not “still a good guy” like many on here seems to be suggesting lol. some guy who thinks “wokeness” is evil or whatever is not my comrade, regardless of how many CEOs he has killed. also saying this is “praxis” betrays a complete lack of understanding/refusal to apply theory. something that seems to go out the window when a fun (not denying that) rupture like this happens.

It makes me uncomfortable that people can just ignore his ideology, and ideology that is abjectly killing minorities as we speak and propagating within white reactionary men, just cos he killed a ceo.

Like killing the ceo IS funny. It was a good bit.

But when I see stuff like what you’ve quoted it makes me think that yeah users here probably didn’t make the same connection we are making, but by saying “still a good guy” it’s like ermmm what about the fact his ideology will include the erasure or even eradication of people on this site? This dude does not like women or queer people let’s be clear. But that’s fine if he kills the right people as he is “still a good guy”?!?!?! Make that make sense.

I don’t think people mean to do that but when you are a person this guy would opress It’s gross to see him characterised as still positive despite his beliefs.

Like people need to get that good act doesn’t equate to good guy. It’s so childish.

i agree, I think it’s a very privileged way to act. “willing to murder CEOs” is quite low on the list of desired qualities in potential comrades, not being an anti-wokeness lunatic is significantly more important lol.

Like people need to get that good act doesn’t equate to good guy. It’s so childish.

totally, i think painting the killing in hindsight as some ultimate moral act that absolves him of being a right wing culture warrior is an extremely regressive way of looking at morality to say the least.

          Many such cases.

Honestly thank you for commenting, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable and grossed out so knowing I’m not the only one vibing this makes me feel a lot better meow-hug

I saw something on here maybe a while back while lurking and it was something like “I need to be able to trust the person next to me in a protest with my life and if they are a patsoc how am I supposed to do that?”

And like FR!!! I wouldn’t trust any socialist who said the shooter was “still a good guy” or apologised for his ideology in a protest next to me because they’ve already admitted my rights and existence as a women come second to a frankly matterless (in hindsight) “victory”.

“We will sort womens/minority etc rights out when we’ve got class consiousness”

Not if we are all dead before that happens.

That’s an extreme example obviously but it takes extreme mental gymnastics to see this guy as a hero still after seeing his ideology and motives sooooooo lmao.

I dunno I don’t think people saying he’s a good guy even realise they are coming across like that but that’s the privileged innit, being able to just forget others struggle when it’s convenient and they are excited.

i think you completely hit the nail on the head here. it’s a 20th century mindset (19th century even, lol) that just uncritically carries on the shortcomings of the old masters. non-dialectical! a communism, a Marxism for our time has to uphold queer liberation, feminism, racial justice, etc. as non-negotiable aspects. then again many western leftists (thankfully not too many on this website) still struggle with such basic aspects as anti-imperialism that have been hashed out pretty solidly for 100 years or so!

Literally!!! Aaaaaa I had this out with someone else and like marx just forgot about women. Like they had some good ideas and formed the basis but that was a fucking century ago!!! We need to build in that and address areas they just failed in. E.g. women.

              Calliban and the witch skeleton-guns-akimbo

Socialism in 2024 isn’t socialism if it doesn’t have intersectionality as the backbone of its ideals and people on here blates haven’t internalised that.

yeah even real ones like Lenin and Connolly seem so stunted when you hear them speak about women. I guess mostly men are still like that. Lenin to be fair was ahead of his time at least in an academic way wrt feminism. but still a 20th century guy ultimately. Stalin… not his finest area to say the least.

Aaaaaa preach, like Lenin and his views towards homosexuality as well and being a Rosa stan. It’s that lack of lived experience imo, people can’t internalise the concepts if they are a he/him because how the patriarchy relates to them and oppresses them is fundamentally different. I think people like Lenin are the example where the man DID listen and that says it all.

You took the words right out of my mouth. And this wasn’t just some wacky beliefs like some believe it to be. This shit isn’t wacky to the marginalized people it hurts
