The politician from Ohio is so concerned about making sure people have children. Normal people might remember Ohio as the state that rejoiced over the miracle of a pregnant 11-year-old.

Kamala could gain points with normal people (including surrounding swing states) just by mercilessly dunking on Ohio until November.

Their worldview is based on the idea that someday, somehow, we’ll figure things out. How? We don’t know yet so the only thing to do now is to continue to propagate and empower future generations so that maybe they can eventually figure it out. Their sole reason for existence is to be a link, either through direct genealogy or action, in the chain of humanity that eventually coalesces to create the ubermensch that somehow wills forth an ultimate “purpose” from the ether to retroactively validate all the actions that led to its existence.

Naturally, reproduction is a vital part of this process of forcibly propelling humanity forward through time and social/biological evolution. Anyone that does not participate in the traditional bourgeoisie family unit is actively at odds with their conception of the “human project” and thus should not have any participation in steering it. There’s a simple reason that drives homophobia/transphobia from these types, their very existence questions the validity of the “purpose” of reproduction and iteration. At best, they’re seen as an aberration to be ignored and disenfranchised; at worst, an affront to the very purpose of being that must be culled in order for the cycle to continue unimpeded. Childless cis women are chided for not participating in the project but are met with fare less ire due to their potential to do so as well as a begrudging societal acknowledgement of biological realities that preclude some women from reproducing

She definitely has a real chance. Biden’s biggest weaknesses were his age and his record. Harris isn’t old (especially compared to Trump), can more easily back off Biden’s least-popular positions, and it’s harder to blame her for not accomplishing as much as the guy ostensibly running the show.

Trump is also not some electoral juggernaut; he’s basically a walking gaffe/outrage machine with an endless supply of skeletons in his closet.

I think that’s completely fair. I’m on the left (lower case l) and I don’t know anyone who voted for Biden, but plenty who voted against Trump. Biden was a wholly uninspiring candidate, and if you’d asked me in the early days of the 2020 primary who was going to win, Biden was near the bottom with Yang imo. Especially after his disastrous debate performance, dude looked and acted like they’d just done CPR on him minutes beforehand.

I didn’t think Bernie was going to win that election, but there was that moment when the establishment Dems were on the bottom of the polls, and Bernie was ahead. It was the last time I felt any kind of hope for a process to go our way.

Bernie would have beaten the absolute dogshit out of Trump, imo. That little stunt the Democrats pulled in all dropping out and giving their delegates to Biden and declaring him the de facto winner after [checks notes] he won one of four primaries, on top of all of the shit in 2016, has made me completely cynical towards them. I’ve got the fastest eye roll in the West for anybody who insists that the democratic primary reflects the will of the voters.

Agreed. People are starving for a normal candidate, and Kamala strikes me as only being abnormal in how much of an absolute normie she is. She has almost no baggage at all, she has experience as a prosecutor (which should speak to her ability to communicate) and landed some pretty good body shots on Biden in the 2020 primary debates, and she has almost none of the problems that Trump and Biden shared (brain-addled golf-obsessed septuagenarians), and she can lay claim to Biden’s W’s and have plausible deniability for his L’s. Kamala has previously come across as a little too scripted, and that’s born out in other reports about her being something of an overbearing perfectionist, but I think that’s nothing that the DNC war machine can’t polish up. I think Kamala’s got a real shot here.

Honestly, I’m kind of appreciating the normie perspective you’re bringing here with this comment. While I disagree with the “no baggage” statement, I don’t think her baggage will harm her with the broader fascist American public. The only people who will really care about all of the horrible things she did as DA/AG are those of us already on the left.

That’s exactly what I meant when I said almost no baggage. The average canter/auth voter in the US couldn’t give two shits about Kamala being an over-aggressive DA. A lot of them probably appreciate it, even. Being more libertarian minded, it bothers me, but not remotely as much as Project 2025 does.

I just saw some parts of Vance talking. The crowd was dead. A lady behind him was falling asleep. If anything, he’s going to blow Trump’s election. When someone “charismatic” like Trump says something insane, the crowd can twist whatever real thoughts they had to join in on being with him.

Vance? Watching a wet garbage bag say the dumbest thing ever might honestly be the only concrete hope the Dems have. If I were Kamala and co I’d let him yap as much as possible and then replay his most boring crappy comments over and over.

Harris is turning out to be one of the funniest developments of this campaign so far.

She’s almost the perfect combination of cringe and fashy, nothing they’ve said about her so far has been particularly compelling.

In an election where all she has to do is take body blows and not be Trump… Idk I think it might actually work.

Vance is way more unhinged that I thought (and tbh I had little idea who he was before this). I can’t imagine he would make any undecided voters more comfortable with trump unless they have full blown woke derangement syndrome and thought Trump simply didn’t hate women enough.
