It’s comical that one of, if not the most, anti-communist and reactionary regions of Poland is the one where this monument managed to survive decommunization.

The author of the monument, Marian Konieczny, stated in 2014 and again during a meeting in Rzeszów in January 2015 that the inspiration for the form of the monument was the mandorla as an ancient motif in sacred art associated with the female element, originally through the cult of fertility. This shape was intended to be an alternative to the phallic connotations of the obelisk, which dominates in monumental art.
Yeah it’s very affectionately also know as „pizda z rzeszowa” but this I didn’t know. It adds a lot of context lmao
