Big meme on r/cth around the time it closed, became the site logo, then after a while of being chapo.chat, admins decided to shed that name, as the site was becoming increasingly completely unconnected to the podcast (even the subreddit was pretty ambivalent on the podcast), and so hexbear, being our most recognizable branding, became the name. You can find it in our post history if you’re good enough with the search function, it was not an uncontroversial decision
