Someone explained to me recently that anti-semitism benefits Israel, as they want more Jewish settlers, which means if Jewish people are comfortable in their lives elsewhere in the world they won’t move to Israel, but if they are constantly under threat from actual anti-semites and nazis, they will be forced to move, and will most likely pick Israel as their destination to move to.
There is also a lot of overlap between the antisemitic position “Jews do not belong here!” and the zionist position “Jews belong in Jew-land!”
