      Tons of older people say shit like this. Nothing they can do or say to impress or convince people. So they have to think of something to give them and their ideas relevance. Ideally something fixed that society likes. Of course they can’t just learn and grow and change like everyone else. that’d be hard anti-italian-discrimination

      i’m beginning to realize a main aspect of the boomer mentality, which is divorced from actual age or generation, is an unwillingness to acknowledge that someone younger than you may be more informed. it’s so silly. there are teenagers who are way smarter than me and that’s just how the world is.

        this is baffling to me because the curriculum gets updated over time so younger people ought to be better informed about matters they’ve been educated on than people who learned about it 20+ years ago.
