    They think by making enough memes they’ll influence the structure of reality.

    These people are largely very religious, and once you’re willing to introduce one sort of magical thinking to your worldview, it’s easier to insert others.

      Maybe some of them are, but I’m mainly thinking of reactionary internet trash. 4chan idiots who post on /pol/ and the like. Their entire prescription for achieving their political goals is to do nothing but meme.

            Yeah a lot of them, then they have contingents whose prescription is doing nothing and awaiting a mystical day of reckoning where everything turns out in their favor

            Critical support for them continuing to do that compared to “getting the high score,” even if they present themselves as wizard-cowled Wojaks to pretend what they’re doing is super smart.
