When I was a teenager, I had several frustrating conversations with chuds twice my age who went along with the pivot from “we have to invade Iraq because it has weapons of mass destruction” to “we’re here to free the Iraqi people” as though the invasion had never been justified on any grounds except the latter. I was legitimately baffled that anyone could be that stupid (this was before Roderic Day’s “Masses, Elites, And Rebels” or Fred Clark’s “False Witnesses”).

And then by the time Trump came round in 2016 and said “we never should have been in Iraq” all those same idiots agreed.
