I just hang them on the hamper/laundry basket edge. Half in, half out, a visual representation of the state of the clothes’ partial dirtiness. No need for a chair to pile up on. If it gets too much, you just first shove in the previous clothes you weren’t ever going to wear again obviously.
This seems like a good compromise to a clothes chair
