      They’re not lowering the bar, they’re maximizing profit. A show that you have on in the background is more profitable in terms of ad revenue, it means more screen time to show ads, and less objection if they choose to crank up how many ads are shown.

        Joke’s on spotify, I only build playlists of artists I recognize, and then only listen to those playlists specifically. No more daily mixes, none of that theftbot AI radio station shit. Dropped ALL THAT as SOON as I heard about “background ‘music’” being a thing they were pursuing.
