i was just reading about it, its interesting freudian for sure.
Just on gut instinct I bet there’s something screwy with any attempt to scientifically define and quantify “features” in a woman, or any person for that matter.
i just read an article this morning and thought it was weird and interesting.
you should post the link we haven’t read it
My wife doesn’t look anything like my biological mother and has a very different ancestry, and Freud’s theories were cocaine-driven quackery, especially after his original “child abuse is the source of most mental problems” theories were rejected by his contemporary child abuse enjoyers and he had to swap to “sex pathologies are everything” and that was better received.
With my sample size of 1, no.
My sample size of 1 is also a no. The evidence is conclusive
Well I ain’t like that so I dunno
I do have a fair bit in common with my husband’s mom, but none of his exes look or act like me and I pursued him, so I’m pretty confident he wasn’t seeking that out
I think people in general are attracted to people that look similar to themselves. This isn’t universal obviously it’s just a common correlation. And since you have your mom’s genetics a woman that looks similar to you will look similar to your mom.
There’s a funny consequence of this where, if you separate siblings at a young age, they will never develop the revulsion towards each other that most siblings develop, and will be more likely to dig on each other if they meet as adults.
I haven’t been married and I don’t want to be, but from my experience as a cishet guy dating women and having long-term girlfriends: Hell fucking no.
My partner looks nothing like my mom, not even close. But personally wise, I married my dad.
