Chances are they just don’t talk about it

Chances are they just don’t talk about it
The term has been removed from most recent medical literature, because the use of it has been inseparably tied with mental disability. You can’t exactly justify calling a black man the n-word because he is a criminal, no?
Trying to find situations where it’s “okay” to use slurs as insults is creating a loophole based on opinion that will broaden with time, implying that there are individuals who “deserve” to be called slurs and those who don’t. It’s creating a divide that can be easily exploited. It’s best just to find another word.
The only appropriate use I know of is when talking about flame retardants. The word inherently means “to slow down/reduce”, so using it to describe people inherently classifies them as “slow”, another common insult term for mentally disabled people. Using it towards fire is a direct use of its wording and doesn’t have the same risks.
Basically, the damage is done and the association is there, and it can’t really be removed simply because the slur is used “accurately”, you know? It carries the harmful context with it.
My dad gave me his old Razer 2 since he doesn’t use it anymore. It’s not in great condition, but it works
You just had me unplugging my cable to shine a flashlight down it to look for the pins haha. Thank you for the info!
Yeah, I recently made the switch from apple to Android after my second apple device in a row had a major internal hardware malfunction out of nowhere and the people at the store just went “yeah no I can’t fix this sorry, you need a new phone”, so I’m still figuring out the complex world of not apple. I didn’t even realize you had to clean the ports, but I guess it would make sense. I recently found out my android and my computer use the same port (usb-c) and I got really excited so that’s the level of “tech savvy” I’m on haha
See it’s at this point I get lost haha, but I think I’m starting to understand the gist of it
Okay, so getting information and energy to and from the phone (what a cable does), how long it lasts, how many different types of cables you’d have to buy to work with similar devices you have, length and price are self explanatory, and whether or not apple is being apple.
I think I got it, thank you!
Yeah, I’m learning that, which is exactly why I asked the question
That, I believe, is what we refer to as an “abomination”
I’m also seeing things about not using the phone while it’s charging which is a rule I’m currently breaking as we speak. Whoops!
Soup, salad, or sandwich. In that order.
I may be stupid.
But I have no idea how people are comparing “better” or “worse” cables. I always just assumed they were just cables.
Edit: for people downvoting me, I’m not saying they are just cables, I’m just saying I don’t know what the difference is, and asking for an explanation. Please calm down.
By that logic, nothing we can say will
“Pain during labor is caused by contractions of the muscles of the uterus and by pressure on the cervix. This pain can be felt as strong cramping in the abdomen, groin, and back, as well as an achy feeling.”
The muscles are fully capable of performing the action. The contractions and spasms are the pain, as your body prepares them for what they need to do.
Besides, it’s not actually the uterus that needs to contract, it’s the cervix. And we have no way of knowing if elastagirl has manual control over her cervix. Most women don’t have control over their cervix, hence why these contractions have to happen for childbirth to take place. It could also be risky to the fetus to try to stretch enough to make that happen.
I’m not taking it personally? I’m a bit lost now. I just commented a response.
My urge to drink vs my absolute hatred of hangovers is an endless battle within my mind and liver
I feel like both of us might benefit from moderation
Never said I was. I’m trying to become more aware of it.
The problem with YouTube is that people make real money off of their content, in an honest way. Unless you can match or exceed that level of income, you don’t have much of a chance of competing. People’s livelihoods would be at stake
Reddit was big, but not profitable for users. At most, it was a social boost and marketing. That’s easily replaceable. Real, significant profiting, not so much.
I was uplifted for a minute and then I read the comments.
Guys, why is it so hard to just respect that people exist that you might not fully understand?
