Jumping right into the depths of 1000 plateaus right off the bat is a lot to take in, especially the war machine chapter. It’s a very dense text and assumes a familiarity with a wide swath of philosophy, and tbh is meant to be a bit esoteric. Don’t feel discouraged though!
Here are some better starting points to their work together, if you want to read primary sources:

edit: also Deleuze’s stand alone essay, Postcript on Societies of Control. It’s very clear and interesting.
There is a litany of secondary lit on them, but I find them really fun writers to read first hand, even if some of it is absolutely useless imo. I’ve heard the Eugene Holland reader for 1000 plateaus is good.

Yeah, I couldn’t really hack it with all the complicated philosophy stuff so now I just stick to sci-fi, history and if I’m feeling brave political theory
yeah I read a little of 1000 plateus in college, but I never really understood the concept of the “rhizome”. I want to learn more someday

rhizomes are pretty cool, I read a bit of 1000 Plateaus a long time ago, helped me get beyond the lib frame worldview I had been forced into at the time a bit
they got a few interesting concepts, but probably much more efficient to find a good youtuber to get familiar with this stuff honestly

The only thing I read/sorta understood from Delouse and Gondwana was deterritorialization, which to be fair is probably pretty easy to understand and also I barely understand it. Something about Che T-shirts.
I did read a bunch of Derrida to try farm as many fake internet points as possible, before I realized that the world didn’t work like that and I could just talk out my ass.
I just keep the Rubber Band Man playing in the back of my mind as I process the funky facility and jazzbone rhizomes.
