I literally had a coworker from Poland who went “soviets were so evil, if Hitler won the war, polish ppl would be better off”. He would not listen to me saying that if hitler won then polish people would simply not be, at all.
Although it probably didn’t help that I opened with “look, you don’t need to like Stalin to understand…”
The Soviets put up monuments of Lenin everywhere, but we tore those down after we were liberated. We replaced them with statues of Voldemort and our greatest national hero, Vyatcheslav the Jewslayer.

Next time try “Stalin’s only flaw was that he was too kind and gentle, causing him to stop at Berlin.”
