@pooh you should be able, I think, to follow me for example from your login. Similarly, I can follow comms or individuals on Hexbear and their posts show up organically on my home feed.
you can’t follow users from any platform, including lemmy, on a lemmy account

no, this is what we see when we go to your userpage, can’t subscribe or follow people on lemmy
I can see my posts on Mastodon but not the other way around.
