When you are only given the choices between 99 and 100% Hitler you reject the system and actually utilize the mass discontent instead of voting for the “least bad bad guys” regardless, effectively guaranteeing whatever they do is acceptable as long as they do not become the other guys.
My personal or our group rejection of the system has no actual material effect except to make things worse. You can’t just reject society without having the organized structure in place to actively rebel against it. Just not participating does nothing but make things worse.
