- I feel like local republicans are a dime a dozen, and if you’re in a democrat dominated area, you might get a position based on rules. In my area you can’t have a true majority, only a 2/3rds majority. So that means there are always seats that go to Republicans, even though they get like 1/2 the vote.
- Even if it only works once, you get like 2ish years to fuck with republicans all you want, undermining all their goals.
- Some positions run unopposed and just get filled.
- You can use your advanced online degree in Hogology to blend right in. All it takes is a trip to the local Carhartt store for the right garb.
- If enough of you band together, you can probably out maneuver the command structure of your local party and start running your people for local positions.
I have no idea what I’m talking about, really. Consider this the ultimate bit, the bit to end all bits. Infiltrate the party from the ground level, outnumber the local leadership, and shrink the Overton window just a smidgen. Nah, this is probably a dumb idea.

I think the real leverage is to sneak leftist ideas into right-wing spaces without their knowledge they’re left-wing. They take well to hating billionaires in favor of the working class. Encourage their positive traits. The original “rednecks” were striking miners.
People believe things more easily if it’s coming from their in-group, so this idea kind of has legs.
Like if a Republican views you as some sort of commie he’s not going to listen to much you say. But if he sees you and your friends as a bunch of fellow Real Americans, you can probably convince him of a lot of stuff.

Which is the opposite of what you were trying to say

Honestly I don’t see any real difference between the 2 parties at this point, both are irredeemably fascist and no matter which party any of us were to run under we would have inevitably have to eventually reject and condemn the party leadership
If the DSA doing entryism within the Democratic party is alright then why would this be any worse? Either way the goal shouldn’t be to help the party but to act like a parasite feeding on it
