It was fantastic. I didn’t even have to cook anything or have awkward interactions with family. I don’t think I worried about anything for the whole day, which is a pretty big deal for me.

The hobby comm would be perfect for that imo. I haven’t posted any pics of mine, but maybe I should.
I think you definitely should I love looking at pics of models like this. It’s a hobby I always wanted to do but don’t for lots of reasons so I like to vicariously live through others
What are the reasons you don’t do it, just curious?
Lots… space for one, I don’t have a good place to put them or the stuff. Money is another, it can be expensive! Also I’m real bad at art…I’ve painted minis before but oof I’m bad. And bad at gluing. And just bad at it
I’ve got other skills and hobbies that I’m much better at. Maybe someday
So I can say… There’s no painting or gluing involved. The biggest thing is getting rid of the nubs where you cut it, with glass file + sanding paper. I usually spend a lot of time on this but only because I’m anal about it.
Also, as far as cost, first kit I got (Aerial) was I think $17? The tools I mostly already had, don’t cost too much online. The fancier kits definitely get pricey, but the High Grade kits are usually $15-$25, which isn’t too pricey compared to a lot of hobbies. I’m also looking into bootleg kits which can be a decent amount cheaper, especially for Master Grade and similar.l, but I have no clue about typical quality yet with those.
