Sorry to link the NY post but it was actually the only source I saw that mentioned both Apple’s manufacturing interests in China as well as its interest in hawking goods there.

I feel hopeful that the CPC’s policy of hanging the capitalists with the rope they sell them is working. Is it possible, as unbelievable as it may seem, that American journos will one day soon lose their jobs for criticizing China?

Sorry if this was already covered elsewhere. I searched but couldn’t find anything.

They didn’t fire him, they warned him and he walked.

And I understand why Apple warned him, even though I don’t agree with it. China is both a huge market for them but also the only place in the world able to produce a lot of their products in high enough volumes to keep up with demand, just like it is for most other big tech companies.

They didn’t warn him because they disagree with him, only because they’d risk loosing a huge market and business partner if they didn’t.

Again, I don’t agree with silencing criticism for China, but it’s fully understandable why they felt the need to IMO.

I actually do agree with silencing criticism of China since it leads to Asians getting murdered and hate crime’d in the USA. And also because the USA, given its history, has no right to criticize anyone.
