It gets worse. So much worse. And of course the slavery is presented as justified and a good thing that makes the slaves happy as long as the master is mediocre enough to be not too cruel to his slaves.
Some good stories came from “isekai” concepts (Visions of Escaflowne, and in non-anime/manga, The Neverending Story) but it’s being strip mined as a genre into spank bank power fantasies with :freeze-gamer: characteristics over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again now. :pathetic:
I miss how the OG isekai involving mainly schoolgirls were just far better because they didn’t pander as though their audience were just grungy r@pe gremlins, Miyazaki was right anime was a big fucking mistake
Ah. Yeah. I’ve met fans of these shows at anime groups.
There are 2 types -
The kind who have no media literacy on this because they just like seeing cool fireballs and are somewhere on the spectrum (normally mentioned early on)
The guys who really like that shit, but they mostly try to talk at cis-women about it and don’t take mild suggestions as topics try and shift. They tend to get banned soon after as a hazard.
I usually hear “IN THE LORE” as an excuse for everything, or even “THAT IS EMPOWERING ACTUALLY BECAUSE SHE GETS POWERFUL WHEN SHE FIGHTS FOR SENPAI” and other :kombucha-disgust: arguments.
In some versions of that incel power fantasy trash, the false rape accuser character is (CW: extreme sexual violence)

raped to death and dismembered before a cheering crowd and it’s presented as poetic justice.
:agony-4horsemen:
I stopped during the first episode.
It seemed like it could have been okay with the multi-verse.
But then the false rape accusations followed by slavery, I just couldn’t.

Love when the lore simply is and had no human write it.
Thermian arguments intensify :so-true:
Ulysses please leave Robespierre out of this.
This is some nerd kind of joke, really appreciated!
