The FBI has their best guys working on “tracking down” the legislators who are in, I am checking my notes, the same hotel they’ve been in in Michigan Illinois since they flew out of Texas.

No, the FBI has no authority to arrest them as they have not committed a federal crime. No law against making statements about hunting them down to sound tough though.

Okay, but I think this establishes this as something different and not “politics as usual”

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think they have ever even tried to involve the FBI before.

What I’m saying is I don’t think it’s reasonable to jump just because Trump’s FBI run by Kash Patel made a statement. It will be different if they actually do something. Kash spent a lot of time saying he was going to release everything about Epstein and it’s pretty plain that was nothing more than talk. These are bullshitters.

Releasing everything about Epstein would implicate Trump and hurt his popularity among his base, so they won’t do that.

Sending the FBI to arrest Democrats would cost Trump nothing and actually make him far more popular among his base.

                This is worth watching.

Yeah, I’m not saying it’s not worth watching. I’m saying Trump admin statements about what they’re going to do have similar value to a fart. IF more than statements happen, then it’s notable and different. Currently it’s just bluster. Trump hasn’t purged the FBI and replaced them with loyalists yet, and they’re not quite as dumb as ICE is.

I’m surprised that Abbott hasn’t done a purely political stunt and said something like “I sent some of our finest Texas Rangers to Chicago to uphold Texas law.” Chuds love that GOP “my way or the highway” owning the libs bullshit even if it’s grandstanding nonsense.

        publicly humiliated

I want to be optimistic and Pritzker talks very tough about Trump and the GOP. But I’m pretty sure that if Abbott actually did that - Pritzker would fold like a cheap suit. Instead of arresting them for breaking Illinois law - Pritzker would do the 100% typical dem thing. He’d file a lawsuit that Americans would yawn about, ignore, and then forget.

I’m sure in private Pritzker non-stop talks to his aides and consultants about how he can win over “reasonable” republican voters in his hoped-for 2028 presidential bid.

arresting texas rangers in illinois would be such an easy slam-dunk for dems, so you know for sure they’d never risk it

You could nail them with plenty of shit that would keep them locked up in the pokey for a long time, like impersonating an illinois police officer, conspiracy, kidnapping, attempted human trafficking, etc etc

The dems are a real trip. Trump and the GOP gleefully and massively damaged healthcare, medical research, scientific research, etc. They stole the from poor to create a gigantic money funnel to the rich. They created the best funded Gestapo in the history of the world. Trump is vile, incompetent, corrupt and a criminal who has already grifted many billions from Trump 2.0.

Despite all of that - the dems are historically unpopular. And their plan is - of course - 100% risk averse.

We’re headed for the rocks but if we can get some independents onboard - maybe at the last minute we can turn this thing around we all won’t die!

Do something radic— Oh. That’s always a bridge too far. But at least do something now and be bold. Can you at least do that?

No. But we doing polling and focus groups to determ—

            Oh, fuck off.

They learned their lesson in 2008. Even though Obama was 100% in the tank for the bourgeoisie and the DNC, they will never ever again allow a fair presidential primary. Bernie would have been the best thing for the democrats in the short and long term, particularly because he would roll over on most everything and be satisfied with playing around in the margins to improve things slightly without really rocking the boat. The DNC is dead set on never again allowing any outsider candidate with progressive posturing anywhere near the controls.
