This discussion was mostly casual. They agreed on mostly everything.

The most heated disagreement they had was on the participation of Jewish people in anti-Zionist movements.

BadEmpanada says that he has a term “Jewish Exceptionalism”. I think he said that he made this term up. He says that by focusing on the opinions of Jewish people in the anti-Zionism movement gives the appearance that the opinions of Jewish people matter more.

Hasan said that Jewish Anti-Zionist groups are important because it shows uninitiated people that the Jewish religion and Zionism are separate entities. Hasan says it’s not intended to say that the opinions of Jewish people matters more.

Thank God they’ll have a moderator.

A someone tweeted, the Hasan Ethan debate was like ASMR for kids whose parents fought all the time and I don’t need that in my slop.

Why comment on this then ?

Idk why this website has Reddit-brain about things They Definitely Don’t Care About and need to let everyone know how much They Don’t Care as loudly as possible.

Like it’s really easy to go without engaging with internet blood sports slop by the virtue that the website is largely unaware of like 90% of that horseshit

Because it’s absolutely brain dead to start every post with any social media figure over 300 followers with bemoaning why anyone cares about said figure, and how you don’t care and want everyone to know how much you don’t care.

This shit belongs in mid 00s facebook

Historically they were not known to be friends. There was a internet drama, “reactgate”, “chairgate”. Twitter was debating whether it’s ethical for react streamers to make money from watching videos made by other people.

There was one time when Hasan put on a youtube video of a small youtuber and went to go to the bathroom. This wasn’t really like a normal scenario for Hasan. At the time he was known, excessively pausing during videos. Watching a video and pausing and commenting over it is generally considered to be protected by “fair use” in terms of Copyright law. The small youtuber was upset. Hasan apologized. D*stiny fans created a larger drama out of it.

During this same period, Badempanada chose to take the position against react streamers. He said that react streamers are stealing labor value from other video makers or something. I think he has changed his position to be more lenient as long as the commentary of the reactor adds new value and also he likes that he’s getting more subscribers when people react to his videos.

For this reason they avoided each other. They have made a truce in the past year. I think Badempanada was banned from twitch. Hasan only streams on twitch. This video from today is basically the first time they’ve talked publicly together

I’ve played 2 hours of the stream. It has been very casual. There’s no heated moments. They have very light criticisms of each other. Hasan thinks that Badempanada scares people because he doxes his enemies on twitter. Badempanada thinks Hasan should leave the US because the political situation is getting too bad.

BE said he allowed Hasan to watch his educational videos on stream because of the ongoing genocide and how that’s a lot more important than petty disagreements about react content.

From my limited understanding they’re not “friends” but not enemies either. Hasan has a lot of respect for BE’s well researched educational videos, but he also thinks he’s fkn insane on twitter (which BE is). BE criticizes Hasan a lot, but it’s not personal attacks. They know they’re on the same side and disagree with each other’s methods.
