I dreamed an episode of Red Dwarf where Lister and Rimmer find an “ancient” article about Sigma Males and each spend the runtime trying to prove they’re the most Sigma before realizing that The Cat is more Sigma than either of them could ever be.

I love Red Dwarf. It’s aged surprisingly well too.
I’ve binged it maybe three times; frankly most imaginative space show lagging behind star trek only because red dwarf insists on no intelligent alien life; despite that shortcoming it’s still utterly fantastic.
Except Cat, of course.
Cat’s not alien, though. Felis Sapiens evolved aboard Red Dwarf.
Yeah, I guess it depends on your definition of sentient alien and if off world evolution of earth life counts.

I used to watch it a ton when I was younger, but haven’t see. It in probably my decades. I’d be down to do a watch party or something if everyone else wants to.

I really like it but the laughter is distracting. Just a thing of the times.
They did a remaster set of releases using different footage, and since they didn’t have the budget to re-record the laugh track, some of those episodes don’t have it. Could watch those!
No one talks about it but Lister is a dogboy and hes kinda hot in a slovenly way.

So…did you know there’s an American pilot episode that also features the British Kryten actor? It’s…not…well…not great. It wouldn’t have done for red dwarf what the American office did for the original office show to say the least.
I did, watched a bit of it yesterday, actually. It really fails to capture the appeal of Red Dwarf in general imo.
Been a fan for longer than I can recall. One of my favorite comedies. The fact that Craig Charles is in recovery also resonates with me (just over six months clean myself)
