    Wait, I just finally got around to looking up this story. Why are the robots wearing blackface? (or the closest approximation thereof possible given techno-minimalist aesthetics)

      Because robot engineering requires we can see that their eyes light up red when they turn evil. You need a high contrast background.

      Did you even study Asimov’s laws?

      I believe it’s a combination of “dark robot looks more badass” and a bit of white supremacy dog whistling from “black servant serving drinks.”

        Yeah those. But also in the second reading, the white part of the robot is clothes and the black part is skin, and checking the robot again yields a bonus sexual pathology reading.
