Judging by what said about US health care (that his son dying means that no one should ever have a better experience or outcome than his son did or it somehow dishonors his son’s memory) he’s almost certainly one of those “pointlessly bad thing must continue because it happened to me, Jack” types anyway.
I think on this particular pointlessly bad thing he’d be more “I have never considered and refuse to consider why we must do pointlessly bad thing forever”
