In addition to just being a very entertaining movie, this thing has such sinister vibes around it. So many winks and nods to CIA linked events in the near future like the car bombing of Orlando Letellier that would happen within a year of this movie releasing, as well as the invasion of the middle east. There’s even a scene where the CIA media analyst / counter-intelligence agent looks directly into the camera and asks who would make a job like his. They even brought Richard Helms (the former CIA director) on as a consultant. I don’t usually get weirded out by movies easily, but it left me feeling very unsettled. Watch this movie if you haven’t seen it yet.

I’ve had Parallax View and Marathon Man kicking around the back of my mind since I saw them both about a year ago. Both excellent movies. The weird thing about the Parallax View is that it somehow manages to be less strange than the RFK assassination. Still eerie regardless. I feel like directors don’t even attempt to make these types of films anymore.

I’ve been working my way through /r/Trueanon’s movie list, and I’m afraid that I’m going to run out of their suggestions sooner rather than later. I’ll definitely check out Winter Kills when I get a chance.
