I have an Odroid N2+ running dietpi and I am wondering which torrent client people use in similar setups.

I have been mostly using transmission my whole life and it works fine but it happens often that the service becomes unresponsive. So I have been looking into alternatives. Trying out qbittorrent now and while it works fine the CPU usage seems too high. Only two active torrents right now and htop reports 60% CPU usage.

Other options available are deluge amd rtorrent so going to look into them later.

rtorrent is going to be the best option in terms of performance. It is command line based, but if you absolutely need a gui, you can install the web interface called ruTorrent. I used to use a python tool called pyroscope but I’m not sure that it is up to date.

You want to be on x86 for torrents or using both sections of the cpu on the odroid (not sure if htop is telling you individual core usage…). Still 66% seems high even for a sbc and transmission.

Are your tab completes laggy? You might be running a very generalized software package on some very unique hardware, my orange pi zero ran like shit for some use cases till I built a kernel for it and changed bunches of stuff to accommodate the hardware.

I got a two core old ass i5 that’s sitting at like 6% while seeding a hundred torrents on deluge.
