‘Andor’ is also pretty good.
Its a joke about either your mom being fat or your mom believing there’s a future under the current regime that she will be invited to if she shrinks herself enough and behaves right. Its a sick somewhat ableist burn either way.
‘Andor’ is also pretty good.
Just pointing out that certainty is vulnerability.
Youre assuming owners can accept less than optimal outcomes ever. Once they get a 10% return literally anywhere, they just will not fuck with 9.999% ever again for any reason even if they gave the excess capital laying around doing nothing. Its just not Sexy, doesn’t feel like winning.
There’s a great “well there’s your problem” episode on freight rail and the fucking ratio.
I think, like being queer, there is no clear answer, and looking for one is kind of missing the point?
Like, does it matter whether someone is queer or gender non conforming from birth or from last Tuesday, to anyone who’s not a massive piece of shit?
And trying to answer that definitively kills a bunch of nuance and creates lots of biphobia and is just generally awful.
Furs are pretty similar there. Are you this thing? Do you like to do this thing? Have you always wanted to try this thing? These can all have different answers, or the same, and it’s fine.
I have seen more robuet and convincing compassion from sociopaths who knew I knew they were sociopaths who knew I knew they hated me.
And it looks like there are Linux tools that do what6ou want, integrated into at least the two major UX’s.
Youre married to a specific corpo shit thing that is shit and specifically does not support Linux, on purpose. Google is fighting you, they are making this hard. And your ux (probably gnome or KDE) is what looks like it has the solution here. Try that instead of acting like a libchild. Dual boot or whatever til you find a thing that works (windows updates gave been known to kill dual boots partitioned on same physical drive)
And the reason to switch isn’t because it’s ‘so easy’. I made a kind of linger post somewhere in this thread on it.
Holy fuck is this one of us getting drunk and doing a really profoundly antisemitic bit?
But we only have one, so its not very communist.
But they are all of us and we share them. Is that more communist?
I’ve been using our toothbrush for like a week.
I have no clue; I don’t touch that corpo garbage, but if there’s not and yyou can’t, and wine doesn’t work:
Run a windows (or android? Android seems lighter) VM, give it no permissions it doesn’t need, sandbox the fuck out of it, then sync from there.
Edit: quick search reveals likeliest solutions are tied into the ux… Thingies, forget what they’re called. Like KDE and gnome. Try the one for yours; gnome and KDE generally have their shit together.
Its a little more free in literature, and since 2020 some good(ish) stuff is getting made.
‘Lovecraft country’ (one absolutely fire season, tied up and concluded) if Malcolm x was a riff on 20th century fiction, primarily the Lovecraft mythos. Not if he did one; if he was one. It says and does more in its first episode than most shows do in a decade of long seasons. Has a beautiful sex scene that’s ambiguously gay or trans and so gory it might not make it onto a theater screen, and thats not even the most interesting thing going on in that scene.
‘Andor’ (final planned season in production) is a prequel to the one good star wars movie. Its extremely lefty, extremely well made at every level, and tense with zero sword wizards.
‘Severance’ (second season delayed by strikes, in production) is an ontological mystery that explores cognitive dissonance corpo infantilization and the exploitation of labor, how it interacts with self, the theft of time, relationships, self-knowledge, all kinds of shit. Funny, surreal, dramatic when it needs to be, excellent visual direction.
And gets in the way and fucks everything up if you misclick and select the little unremovable fed button instead of tgd thing you wanted to do. Also replaces random shit like your file explorer with the fed button sometimes.
Okay but they also inform on you to literally every fed agency billionaire and corporation, and everything they bring you that isn’t ‘put glue on pizza’ was an ad.
And also was snitching on you to literally every corporation and all your least favorite governments! Also maybe some of the ones you like, if you like any and have great access.
trust nothing
Meditations on trusting trust. You trust your compiler, unless you programmed something in an electrical diagram on paper then went down to a hardware store, paid in cash, and built it
I’d use mint or pop!os for a noob (yes, descended from Debian), a fedora atomic of some kind for a medium paranoiac who wants to game, qubes for your security culture types and anyone concerned about hostile states or major corporations, and arch for the nerds who want cred/control
The past <5 years gave been so good for Linux usability.
I had an easier time getting fonv to run smoothe on Linux than I did on windows 8.
And 11’s compatibility is even worse.
Remember when accusing even a single Jewish person of dual loyalty was considered shitty and racist as fuck? That made a lot more sense.
