Confused American noises?
Confused American noises?
I remember learning that 3.5" disks were still called “floppy” disks, despite being rigid plastic. My teacher took apart a disk and showed us how the inside was a film, but all that did was encourage us to take apart the disks and make desk toys out of the springs.
Man, I remember when Zip Disks were a big deal and a GB was a lot of storage.
I’m not sure who you mean by “they”. iFixit is great, but they just sold me the tools and the parts, and provided the replacement guides. I have been a customer since they opened their webshop, but I haven’t ordered anything from them for a few years. I can only assume they still have great customer service, if they’re willing to cut ties with Samsung over customer privacy.
Samsung was OK back then. I really liked the device, but it was a little flawed and they offered nothing for the battery that didn’t hold a charge. Eventually the charging port also failed, but by that time I had three spare batteries, so I would just rotate them through the device rather than plug it in. The screen cracking was on me, I dropped it, but the other issues shouldn’t have required a third-party DIY repair channel at all.
It’s impressive they managed to last this long. I remember getting the ifixit kit for my first Note. I think I replaced the screen twice and had several spare batteries after the first one stopped holding a charge.
Yes.

We can’t change the system unless we vote en bloc. For president, there are two choices, but there are thousands of downticket races for state and local governments where there are valid progressive options. Conservatives have been extremely successful getting their base to consistently back conservative candidates in those local campaigns, and they are getting what they want because politicians fear their unified wrath.
Progressives can be torn apart and distracted by absurd thought experiments and false equivalencies.
If the woman in the scenario is going to be stuck with the nice guy or Donald Trump, then yes she should tactically choose the guy who isn’t an unapologetic rapist. She can influence the nice guy’s behavior, and avoid the horror of Trump. She does not have to condone or accept the nice guy’s bullshit behavior, and there will be a future.
Am I crazy, or is that way too close to those trees and bushes?
Do you have to put the pipe in your crack?
… are we gonna fuck in the back of your Dodge Ram pickup truck? Because it sounds like you want to meet a stranger in the back of your Dodge Ram pickup truck so that you can have sex.
Everything’s gonna be ok.
Trust me, I know what I’m doing.
You’ll understand when you’re older.
Hang on, almost figured it…

What did you think the babies were running from, comrade?
Touchscreens and “smart” features don’t add enough cost to justify the premium you pay for them.
The first lie that capitalists sold was that capitalism rewards innovation. It doesn’t, at all. It rewards exploitation. Innovation is occasionally a by-product, but only as another avenue for exploitation. Human beings are naturally creative and will innovate out of boredom or laziness. Competition does not produce creators, it produces predators.
What’s the most verbose attempt to eschew obfuscation on record?
Sure, as long as you never plan to leave the metro area.
