honestly I reckon 12 hours would be good enough I only really sleep 6-7 hours and I’ll check my phone within half hour at most of waking up usually straight away and I need to watch something relaxing before sleeping so it’ll have been used just before I slept so I think 12 hours would be fine and on the super rare maybe I’m awake a super long time for reasons and sleep 12 hours ok the consequence is I have to unlock my phone with a pin instead of my finger and do it twice cause sim lock not that big a deal hell I think 10 hours would be too extreme and would trigger a bit even for me but I reckon it wouldn’t that often

far cry 5 I don’t think many people hate it as such but just view it as repetitive but it was the first one I played and while most people say putting it in rural montana is boring and not exotic like far crys supposed to be I’m english so rural montana is practically an alien planet and the vibes in the game are immaculate just walking through the wilderness between points on the map to do stuff that down time in between is so nice and when you’re going further distances in the car the radio music is so good and while the stories stupid and the ending is god awful every one of the seeds actors were amazing each one of them was so good even if you don’t get that much time with them I’d honestly say far cry 5 is one of my favourite games ever not my favourite that’s fnv and second is mouthwashing but it’s in joint 3rd place with about a dozen other really good games that I can’t honestly say one is better than the other but I truly love all of them for different reasons

ah haven’t tried vr too expensive for me and not enough space really wanna try it in future though alyx and beat saber look really cool hopefully that’ll improve soon with all the rumours of valves deckard headset and them dedicating so much to linux I mean deckard will probably still be tethered to a pc so it’s not a guarantee since most people will be on windows then but maybe it’ll come with improvements to vr on linux

yeah I’m also quite a noob with linux I’ve only been using it for about a year and also dual boot my pc for the few games I have to for me it’s actually bethesda games mostly due to no mod managers on linux and I know there’s the workaround for MO2 which is what I use anyway but fomods didn’t work :/ I’m also actually playing through hollow knight on my deck at the moment though vanilla and that’s been working flawlessly as for curseforge dunno what you’re modding but if it’s mc I used prism launcher and that worked flawlessly way better than curseforge on even windows with that being full of bloat

linux gaming is basically there at this point proton can run most games flawlessly unless you wanna play games with hyper aggressive drm or anticheat it mostly “just works”

sync for lemmy has a domain block feature if you’re still looking for a way to do that

bethesda is not making a whole new engine from scratch that just isn’t happening if they switched engine it’d probably just be to a licensed engine like unreal and that sucks for mod support the reality isn’t creation engine vs a from scratch in house engine that supports modding just as well but with less jank it’s creation engine vs unreal or something else maybe but not in house and there’s no other engine out there that currently exists that’s as good for modding

a wholly new engine would almost certainly break mods or atleast make them harder to make as janky as creation engine can be it’s the best engine for modding there is and bethesda games absolutely need modding and not just cause the glitches

just use MO2 it’s better anyway unless you’re playing a game that doesn’t work on MO2 like cyberpunk there’s no reason to use vortex or whatever’ll come next

also mods playing bethesda games without mods just feels wrong I’ll probably wait a year for a good sale and a nice build up of mods
