I’d expect to get fired. I’d expect it to be disqualifying for public office.

Yeah, but that’d be the better world (not ideal one though, in ideal one there is no lobbying), and we’re now in situation where people made careers lobbying different stuff, while being in positions, that are supposed to serve the people.

Tulsi Gabbard is my favourite example with few episodes of taking money from Assad regime at some points and that is like lowest low, lower would probably be lobbying for DPRK, and I feel like she wouldn’t turn down that offer too. And that is the person choosen by Taco Don to lead national intelligence.

  • That’s why I specified “methods” and “worst parts of worst attempts”.

So there’s the irony of still existing Red Scare in US, and how building iron smelter in every backyard would probably sound like great idea for leadership, but free lunches in schools are socialism and therefore bad.

People often compare MAGA to Maoism in terms of methods used, so there’s that.

Attacks on intellectuals and academia, attempts to foster local manufacturing (that will turn out to be shit in quality), cult of personality, having some outsiders do the dirty job for you (Red Guards gangs compared to Elon and his minions), that were later dumped in somewhat Machiavellian fashion.

So yeah, for now it looks like he picked out the worst parts of worst attempts to implement socialism.

  • Well, right now it’s basically an arms race between recruiters and job seekers on who can put less effort in the process.

I’m fairly certain many recruiters absolutely abuse the hell out of LLMs to read résumés, and when LLM-generated resumes arrive en masse - why even bother.

And then you have some “bright minds” using AI agents to even do interviews, making people talk to robots. At some point the job seeking party is gonna do the same, and either it will be “interviewing is dying”, or there will be some serious reconsiderations from employers on how not to organize hiring process.
