Right, not to mention they also giving back to community by proposing game friendly changes on kernel AFAIK.
If just most games wold run on Linux out of box at least same as on Windows, i can imagine there would be shift in market share.
One of the reason is needless bloat of Windows so even my for-noobs-distro idles around 0% CPU and less the 1gb memory without doing almost any tweaking but Win10/11 constantly sends calls home and idles on 4-6GB of rams. Other thing is how lightning fast linux can be.
Simply high visit rate is not enough. Every site that wants increase organic traffic has to do SEO at some point.
As for second point yeah, exactly fragmentation is frustrating .
I moved to Lemmy over from reddit not because of content or better UI but because people behind reddit seems like jerks to me and i came to realization I’d rather use open source.
What i lack here is information e.g. programming communities in Lemmy are, well, dead. If left on Lemmy things that are “recommended” to me it’s sensational “news” that are aimed to spark woke vs others battle in discussion.
So what to make better ?
Yep so many people who could have come up with many innovations were deprived of the chance under communism. Nothing against factory workers btw.
Definetly, but not under the regime that built those used as reference.
Nah it’s not, taking away people believe they can built something made most people dull factory workers and those who were extra regime supportive were put in the post to build something but they often didn’t have the abilities . It’s hard to put it into words but you couldn’t have just make startup with nee awesome idea because people in the posts would not let you unless it meant increasing quota.
This is indeed correct but it had dark side, like taking away people’s business or limited freedom of speech.
Not just snoring 😅 👌
I’d say that I’m rather anti communistic but one thing that has never happened in used-to-be communist country i have experience with is starvation.
Actually they solved starvation, built fcking appartments for everyone to live in and gave them to people for free. They also made sure every forgotten village had drinakble water, electricity , gas, shop, train station and bus stop.
Reason why people overthrown them was humans rights repression like taking away people’s businesses to make them state companies. It was not poor the living conditions (for the time).
Isn’t like half of MS ecosystem online only, even MS Office and Teams work via browser. Everything else works out of the box on my Linux Mint ( recommended for Windows to Linux switching users with super frindly forum ) And you can always dual boot.
Well at one point i lead bunch of those “workers” on real project and oh boy, in some cases, i would much rather have robots do it.
And new circle between adBlocks and antiAdDlocks begins.
I’ve solved it by not buying good PC in adulthood.
it led to replacing the “addiction” with other 🤣
Not exactly an answer but you can block communities you don’t want to see.
I don’t think I missed the point though.
I’m ststating that Russians don’t seem to be directly afected aside from having their favorite EU vacation destinations accessible via France or Turkey instead directly from Moscow. It means that so called collective punishment was either ineffective or so mild, that it had almost no effect on dayly lives of citizens.
You compare this with bombing city, being cut out of water, food, medicine and energy.
If anything, Russians collectively punished Ukrainians by shelling, detroying their energy and tradic infrastructure to make winter as bad as possible for UA.
Blocking neccesities for civiliana like water is a war crime. Encircling enemy state after it lanched offensive to yours is not, otherwise e.g. allies pushing Nazis all the way back to Berlin was also crime.
This is not valid in all cases as I know multiple Russians and those living in EU continue to do so with no issue and those living in RU say it doesn’t affect them. You can even find interview with random RU citizens in RU and they all say it doesn’t affect them or that they want to attack UA BC Nato boarder is too close.
Thanks, it is turning into endless battle like DMR vs hacker groups back in the day . Well at least YouTube alternatives will get more users and creators.
I’m quite surprised they actually allowed to stick unknown USB into computer they will be selling to their customers 😮
