And tbh I think most “marxists” just adopt that term because our political discourse is so corrupted that anyone who thinks that we shouldn’t curb-stomp an Amazon employee for wanting a bathroom break is treated like they’re Mao anyway.

But Density means communism to them so they’re suddenly fine with regulations and taxes that prop up an unsustainable suburban ponzi scheme because that’s the lie sold about the American Dream.

When they see how unaffordable housing has become they say, “good, my house is more expensive.”

The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury is a book of short stories that are great. I really like the rain and he has a story called The Long Rain which I read a lot. He has a few in there that are actually really spooky though.

The Marionette’s Inc was just taken and adapted into a loosely based episode in the last season of Black Mirror (Beyond The Sea)! They’re very very different, but it’s the same concept applied differently and the book itself shows up in the episode.

i read the book and you can tell it was written in pieces. It’s far from my favorite sci-fi, but if you’re just really craving dystopia I think it’s alright.
