The purpose of the UN is to bring all countries no matter how evil together. The UN is useful - to the extent is useful at all - because of the larger number of nations that get together in peace to talk. I’m sure China loves this as it helps their efforts to keep Taiwan out. This is just another attempt to destroy the UN.

any link someone posts to Lemmy should be assumed spam until proven otherwise. Even if it isn’t today, the protocol is open and so there are lots of options for spammers to automate everything about generated an account and then posting links. So far Lemmy isn’t popular enough that much effort has been put into it, but there is still a lot of spam moderators have to remove. Links to reddit are a good place to obfuscate things - just create a reddit group for your spam, then post stuff there all the time, and link to that - there are extra steps but you save hosting and appear more legitimate to those who don’t realize what is going on (until someone removes you of course, but then repeat with a different group)

There are many who are pushing rust as a religion tan that turns people off.

Do you really need all that? Is there a local copy shop (often public libraries, drug stores…) that have some of those services? Sometimes they have better quality printers (photo printers for example). While you pay more per page, do you really do whatever it is enough to make it worth the cost of the printer vs just going elsewhere? There are many middle grounds (black and white printer. Use your phone camera as a scanner) that are clearly worse than what you want, but still good enough for most purposes and you can use the better option when you need it.

The answer to the above of course depends on your specific situation so there isn’t one right answer. It is always work thinking about though.

It wasn’t clear that windows 95 would beat OS/2, and OS/2 was clearly the better so I installed that over windows 3.1. Then in college I got introduced to BSD. I still prefer BSD, but sometimes linux has things that BSD doesn’t so I use linux in places.
