The two examples in the headline are dollar stores which infamously have a huge margin on their inventory. You’d think these would be the retailers who are affected the least by “shrink” but I’m no economist so what do I know.
They’re only saying they’re building a god in order to convince angel investors to keep pouring money into a new technology that has yet to prove that it can even so much as turn a profit on the queries they’re being paid to process. Meta may not have embraced the AI hype as much as Google and Twitter, but let’s not forget their stupid little stint just two years ago with the Metaverse. Maybe Zuck just has to tell himself he’s not an evil antagonist from an action movie, it’s those other guys!
I was disappointed thinking they were gonna re-use ALTTP’s map again, but the previews they showed after the trailer actually made it look like a much more diverse world this time around, so I have hope.
Yeah, all my red flags were up, but you know I wanted it to be real so badly.
Please let this be real
Good idea, let’s put the guy who covers up for pedophiles into the discussion on ethical AI.
I figured out you can disable Bluetooth telephony services if you navigate deep into the printers and other devices control panel. But this might also disable the mic. I’m not able to test it right now.
Voyager has a setting to show a baby emoji next to the name of a user if their account is less than a month old and an account age. Probably one of the best features I’ve ever seen for immediately recognizing troll accounts.
You may like Shokz. Their headsets are wireless and bone-conducting. The drivers get pressed to your temples with a flexible wire connecting them and you hear the sound conducting through your head instead of your ear canal. The only downside I’ve experienced with them is that they can only drown out so much noise, so if you’re planning on using them in a noisy environment, probably go with another choice.
Thankfully only one near me does this and I’ve never gone back once I saw they had these installed. This is really the only way we’re ever going to see these practices phased out. Corporations don’t take anything seriously until it affects the bottom line. Just look at climate change.
I’m wearing one right now!
Somehow, Palpetine returned.
That blue tub brings back some memories. Lots of hurt feet.
NASCAR didn’t switch to unleaded gasoline until 2007, and test scores went up in the areas surrounding their racetracks in the following years.
You’d think that more corporations would be worried about corporate espionage through web browsers, email clients, etc. all being created by one company with a history of bad privacy practices.
I was confused by this too, since Firefox on mobile has extension support
A good recent example of Microsoft supporting the open source community is Orca. It’s a LLM that was basically taught by ChatGPT (GPT3.5) and GPT4 instead of training on its own dataset by having the chatbot explain its reasoning step by step, ELI5, etc. And it’s about to go open source.
My wife was a Christian when we started dating, but her opinions on LGBTQ+ issues made her start questioning her faith which led her to leave the faith altogether by the time we were married.
