Most of the bots on Lemmy have been well meaning, but ultimately annoying.

The issue is there isn’t really a lot of traffic on Lemmy. And from the people that are here a lot of them are lurkers, just consuming, maybe upvoting once in a while, but that’s it. This leads bots that reply to a lot of comments/posts to become a large part of the traffic and thus the experience for the users. There isn’t enough for the bots to get lost in the noise. This also leads to the user experiencing the feeling of only interacting with bots, instead of other people. Most people commenting are looking for people interaction and get annoyed when they think they have such an interaction only for it to be a bot.

Lemmy is also very focused of an audience at the moment, which leads to bots not really being necessary. People here are usually very tech savvy and know how to do most of the things. A bot that explains how to do things people already know how to do comes across as unneeded.

I can’t help but notice your excellent taste in books. However I’d feel remissed if I didn’t yell at you in the voice of Homer Simpson.

I have had a couple of customized CNC machines custom built for a fraction of the price it would have cost to have it done over here. Even with the shipping costs it came out cheaper. And the people were really helpful, they use machines like mine all the time so they know their stuff. They offered really good advice and were excited to work with me. It’s a bit butt clenching to fork over a lot of cash and hope a big ass pallet shows up 4 months later, but they’ve come through for me every time. YMMV.

Temu on the other hand can fuck off. It’s just a scam site like Wish.

I fucking hate this modern way of living.

The world is going to shit, for a large part because of terrible wars. So the “economy” and “markets” get unstable and prices rise. This causes companies to hike up prices way beyond any reason, because it’s an easy excuse to fill the pocket of the rich shits. All the prices going up is inflation, the price of living for the regular person going up and their money becoming less valuable. So that little bit of money a regular Joe has saved up is becoming less and less valuable by the second.

Then, and this is the real kicker, all the companies start going like “Damn the inflation is so high, we have no choice but to raise prices, sorry not sorry”. No shit you dumb fucks, you are inflation, this is your doing.

And thus we are stuck in this endless loop where the rich become richer and the rest of the world just gets fucked one day at a time.

But luckily phones are cheap and we have access to the internet at all times. This way we can watch people die in the wars every day, see the rise of fascism in real time and get a second by second play of how fucked we all are.

I try to be optimistic, but the list of big issues keeps growing and instead of doing something useful about it, the world is falling apart. And this is on a macro and a micro level. The tensions and issues on a global scale are big, but people in day to day have also gotten worse in my experience.

I did the exact same. Google Play Music was actually a good service back in the day. I hated it when they turned it into YouTube Music. I complained about all the broken stuff, so they gave me a home speaker for free and upgraded me to YT Premium for a year. After that year I stuck with YT Premium, since it was less than $2 extra. They also fixed a lot of stuff I complained about. Not everything, but a lot of it. I think YT Music was released a bit before it was ready. Now it still has some issues, but is mostly fine.

Usually I watch 1 or 2 YouTube videos a day and without Premium I would most definitely not. I opened a YouTube video on a computer I wasn’t signed in the other day and it started with a 2 minute unskipable ad about crypto stuff (an obvious scam). So I closed it real fast, no video is worth sitting through that. Even with Premium I still need SponsorBlock. But with that combination watching videos is actually fun.

Still listen to YouTube Music all day at work, so that’s a good value for money for me.

If it’s in doubt it just gives you extra challenges. So in the end everybody will get there, or not and then fuck you I guess.

Did you try running the repair to see if it fixes it?

The reason is the boot drive now has a different ID, so Windows can’t boot from it. So it assumes (rightly so) that the boot drive has changed and launches into repair to fix it. This is something repair can fix for you normally.

Another way is to open up a command prompt in the repair environment (or from a Windows USB stick). Then use the bcdtool to edit the boot options and tell it to use the correct drive. There are plenty of instructions on this found with a simple Google search.

The cloning probably went fine, so don’t assume it has anything to do with that. Just a completely different ssd which trips up the boot.

Notably on Linux device ID are also normally used, so you would have the same kind of issue. Ignore all the Linux fanboys that go Windows bad Linux good and don’t actually help you.

Please note the title is misleading. The domain was sold for 1.8 million, but with a payment plan. So that 1.8 million gets spread out of a longer time. Sure some of the initial funding paid for it, but it’s misleading to say it spent most of their funds.
