  • Not anymore. All knives are now banned in public because apparently we are toddlers. Or they think that terrorists won’t find any way to hurt people now. Because surely legality is where any knife murderer draws the line…

Edit : I think laguioles and swiss army knives are still ok since they have no blade lock. But apparently there is now zero legal difference between my extrema ratio knife (which is admittedly really blurring the line between EDC and “tactical” knife) and an Opinel.

  • I’m having a lot of fun playing mount and blade : bannerlord. The combat is satisfying and the game has quite a lot of depth. It can be a bit overwhelming but I think it’s worth the 2h attempt. For the power fantasy part : get good at polearms and riding, get yourself a glaive, optionally download the mod that allows you to hit several enemies with a single swing and mow down lines of infantry with each charge.

Also, blizzard bad but Diablo is fun

  • You could even do that on the player’s model specifically. But it’s still a maybe, you’re almost guaranteed to get some cursed bugs due to every preexisting code having been made with right handedness in mind.

I’m sure animators are internally screaming at the reasons why this will make some originally right handed animations look off but that’s not my area of expertise.

In reality it’s probably not the hardest thing to do gameplay-wise, especially if you’re doing it from the very beginning of the project, but I don’t think you can simply mirror animations (and some animations-related logic) and have it look natural, so you’d have to make dedicated animations and possibly logic for left hand strikes, right hand blocks etc. which would obviously be much more expensive. But yeah that’s probably what Minecraft does now for example, and since they have a very low level of detail on player characters and their animations it looks alright.

  • Uh ? What’s wrong about that ? These are basically generalized romeo&Juliet laws.

The highlighted age is that from which a young person can lawfully engage in a non-commercial sexual act with an older person, regardless of their age difference. If a participant in a sexual act is under 18 but above the age of consent then sexual acts with another person who is at or over the age of consent may still be illegal if the older participant is in a position of authority over the younger person.

Despite what the text says, here in France, being over 18 while the other person is not can often be enough to be considered in a position of authority btw
