I also am a Star Wars fan. Er well, was, I guess. A pre-Disney fan. But an example of what I meant is like, the bone cane right? He is shown literally killing people with a single hit from it, but Kora somehow survives how many hits? Then she breaks it and instead of grabing the longer end to just hit him with it, she decides punching is a better alternative? Eventually she stabs him with the short end, which was actually pretty silly, but the entire time I just kept thinking okay, surely this will end the fi… Okay we are back to punching again.
Or the many, many chances Kora had to just push him off that tiny little platform? She was inside that center cage which was the literal safest place for her to be and she decides instead of leveraging that great position, to go out with him? What?
Bobby going to Bungie is only an uncomfirmed rumor.
However, I will never forgive Bungie.
They did Marty and Joe dirty, Marty by trying to rescind his company shares and Joe for the way Jason Jones treated him in Destiny 1s developement
They absolutely ruined Destiny 1 and 2, though 2 far more than 1
They deleted content that I paid for without my permission, removing my ability to choose to access it (this is when I stopped playing Destiny altogether)
They’re tarnishing Marathon’s good name by making it a PvEvP extraction looter shooter
“We want you to throw money at the screen” famous quote (they really thought it was a good idea to say that)
If Bobby does become CEO there, I would not be surprised. But I actually dont think its possible for Bungie to get any lower.
Well, also the absolute boneheaded final battle where there were about twenty opportunities to end the fight that were just completely ignored by both sides.
For a split second I thought this was an ad for a sequel to Squadrons and I got kinda excited. But this is probably better tbh.
Squadrons was fun but it didn’t really have the staying power that XWing/TIE Fighter have.
Have they added the multiplayer mode from that fork to master yet?
Square Enix has announced that it will be shutting down two mobile games, Engage Kill and Full Metal Alchemist Mobile, in March.
Beehaw seemed too fast and heavyhanded with defederating a while back. IMO, defederation is really a “last resort” style of option, not a “first response,” so Beehaw using it essentially as a “first response” to some of the bigger instances kinda told me that Beehaw wanted to be off on an island by itself. Like it wanted to be a private forum instead of a Lemmy instance.
I don’t miss Beehaw, and Beehaw disappearing from Lemmy wouldn’t matter to me, because as far as I am concerned it kinda already did that.
The purpose of Lemmy is to be open and connected, not a private walled garden. If it doesn’t fit what you want, then use something else.
Basically, what is there for 90% of Lemmy users to miss, if you effectively banned 90% of Lemmy users by defederating the biggest instances in the first place? They already dont interact or see your content, unless they’re using multiple accounts, which would be no different if Beehaw wasnt a Lemmy instance at all.
What if I don’t like PlayStation? Am I not allowed to like games?
If everyone did what you say then no companies would make video games, because nobody would buy them.
I am shocked. Not that the servers are shutting down, but that the servers even existed in the first place.
From the moment I saw the first trailer I thought a few things:
First, the concept seemed cool. I don’t like zombies and find them to be very uncompelling as an enemy type for various reasons, but to me the trailer seemed to show a game that was like if Project Zomboid played a bit like The Division or Ghost Recon. I never played The Division, but I have put a lot of time into Zomboid and many Ghost Recon games over the years. So the concept was incredibly appealing.
Second, the trailer looked 100% fake. That’s not to say that the assets didnt exist or anything, but rather it felt like a mobile game ad, where the trailer “gameplay” is way better than and completely different from the actual gameplay.
All in all, its impressive that the game actually existed, but it would have been better if the developers delayed the game (again) to keep working on actually making it function decently. And maybe making some original assets for it instead of purchased ones being used almost directly out of the box with minimal if any modification.
Yet.
ChatGPT is excellent for suggesting an idea that I haven’t thought of. I can then use that as a springboard to write out something that works. Asking it if there are optimizations also can yield quite good results. I find I spend less time debugging on average, but not by a large margin.
I think FSR should not be in any game at launch. Too many developers use it as a crutch to hide bad performance and optimization.
More expensive than Star Citizen?
They’re splitting from WETA FX? Interesting. I wonder what they decided to do that for.
It is not surprising to see an older game continue to sell a lot, especially a child/family oriented game, on a child/family oriented console. A game with basically no real competition in its category.
Skyrim is still selling copies. So no, its not surprising.
For a minute I thought this might have been about the Valentine’s Day bug.
It will be interesting for sure, but let’s not fool ourselves into believing that NPCs with AI behaviours will be better in all cases like modern game players seem to with open world game design.
Not every game needs an open world, and in some cases open world game design can end up doing more harm than good. This will be something that developers should look at on a game by game basis, and not a default plugin that everyone uses for every NPC in their game.
