I never understood why Steam didn’t just make a variant of the original Steam controller that just had the classical button layout without touchpads. I liked the touchpad version for some games but it’s really clunky to use for stuff I’m otherwise used to have sticks for. I really like the Steam controller’s grip.
I would’ve loved the same controller with an Xbox layout or something or even interchangeable parts/layouts. Although that would probably drive up the price a ton.

People are constantly announcing their departures from X and make a whole show about it. Only to come back after a couple of days or weeks.
Man, I had recently spent a lot of time designing advertisement stuff around an established brand identity, that was pretty much going for a classy/luxury aesthetic. So I was basing all my designs around that identity. Made lots of variations, took many hours perfecting it.
Then was told they didn’t like it. They wanted something entirely different that “screamed” budget and flashy colors and shapes.
Got it just perfect on the second attempt after being briefed properly, but it did really hurt when my first attempt was shot down so easily.

Never said I agreed with what they’re doing, I am not white knighting them. I frankly don’t give a shit what Nintendo does and doesn’t and what they’ll lose over it.
I was just stating an observation from a business point of view.
It’s also legal to own guns in some countries, doesn’t make it legal to use it to just shoot at anything, and it’s even more ridiculous to assume that everyone buying/owning guns has good intentions. There are many countries where owning a gun isn’t legal, as well as making copies of products you’ve bought, even for personal backup.
And to believe that people use emulation exclusively for their own backups is insanely naive.
Emulation might be legal, but it’s software specifically designed to run illegal copies of the games.
I dislike Nintendo, but I can’t blame them for taking down that kind of software development. They’re still selling many of their old games through their own store for their own emulators. They’re perhaps charging way too much for it and/or lock it behind a subscription wall, even if you ever bought the original copies. Absolute garbage business practice, but from the corporate point of view I can see why they go after emulators. Especially since it’s easier to take those down than trying to go after all digital emulator copies of the games (if not impossible).
They’re probably gonna try and set an example to scare off others trying to make new emulators too.

Also, the amount of excuses that people have to make backups of their already purchased games is very weak. You damn well know that a vast majority of people don’t use it for such reasons, the amount of people that still own original copies, and also have the hardware to even extract software for personal use must be like less than a percentage of the entire community using emulators. They’re just people pirating games they never paid for. It’s very naive to assume otherwise.

From what I read it was over 8 years in development, it should’ve been well beyond a rework, or maybe even a couple, already.
I’m almost certain that Sony, as any boss, was quite done with the whole fiasco and just said “fuck it, let’s go” and just see what happens. It probably wasn’t worth the time and effort to keep putting resources into a project going nowhere.
Damn I remember needing those things to get proper sound in Battlefield 1942, otherwise they’d all sound like frikkin’ chipmunks lmao
It takes only a minute to check on Metacritic what the majority of negative reviews are about.
There are a few legit ones, but most are just trashtalking Ubisoft. Or saying horsecrap like “looks like PS3 games”, which it clearly doesn’t. Or every positive review is “paid by Ubisoft”, and people even complaining about it being a woke political agenda, fucking lmao.
I strongly doubt these trolls even installed the game.
I’m not defending a large company.
I’m expressing my enjoyment of this game. I do not care what company is behind it.
The problem lies with the people that let their entire opinions be molded by the large company behind it.
I never said I assume that every bad review is from someone who hasn’t played.
But you can’t ignore the insane amount of hate Ubisoft is getting for the most insignificant non-issues just because they’re Ubisoft. It takes like a few seconds to notice how the troll armies are linking stuff from various clickbait YouTubers and streamers on social media, and no doubt a vast majority of negative feedback is coming from there.
I’m not ignoring the legit issues this game has, because they are definitely present. And I’m doing my part in reporting them to Ubisoft, instead of making trollposts about it on social media, so we can all enjoy a better game. Sadly that isn’t part of the majority’s crusade against Ubisoft, they’re just out there farming internet points, banking on the circlejerk hate.
I can almost guarantee that the upcoming Metacritic user reviews are a prime example of “Hue hue Ubisoft bad”.
It really isn’t a bad game.
I’m 7 hours in and having a blast (pun intended). It’s an alright game if you’re not into SW, it’s an awesome game if you are. Reminds me a lot of Hogwarts Legacy, the game didn’t bring anythinbg new to the market, but it’s fun if you’re into the theme.
There have been a few technical difficulties but nothing as bad as games I played before, which got much higher ratings and didn’t get blasted for it as hard as people do with this game.
People just really let their hate for Ubisoft take over and jump on that social bandwagon for internet points, even though the game plays barely like any other Ubisoft game I’ve played in the past 30 years.
I bet later today Metacritic user reviews will be flooded with people who haven’t even played the game and just base their entire opinion on a few buggy game clips.
Frankly it’s not even a big deal. There is still the special ability that lets you shoot multiple targets like Red Dead, but I basically never use it.
I don’t really got the impression that the main character is the kind that does random ghetto drive-bys from a speeder.
I’m almost certain the only reason Concord has players is because of social media incessantly talking about it. The only reason I know of the game is because of social media.
Just let it die and move on already.
I wish they updated some of the visuals like other MMOs often do after many years. I like GW2 and gameplay still works well, but it looks so dated compared to other MMOs that refreshed most of their stuff.
So first thing I notice was the top 1/3rd of the page being a blank space.

That said, I rarely ever visit the website, but it looks like every generic blog/news theme format I’ve seen in the past 10 years or so lol. Never change a winning team, but it’s nothing to write home about to be honest.
Oh I know that there are a lot of people that don’t want to get started on having to deal with picking parts, let alone putting them together themselves.
But a lot of stores also started selling pre-built gaming PCs recently, at least where I live. So it’s become significantly easier to obtain a gaming PC these days.
Other than that I feel Xbox hasn’t had as many exclusives as PlayStation lately (if we’re not counting PC ports). So then a decision between either console seems like quite an easy one for many.
Same could be said for lots of other party controllers that are essentially the same.
Like I have a 8Bitdo Ultimate BT controller, it’s essentially an Xbox controller, but it comes with a charging dock and is also compatible with the Switch. It also has hall effect sticks and motion control (for Switch). I preferred the Steam controller’s grip over the Xbox controller, on top of the Steam controller having back pedal buttons as well. Plus it comes with a dongle, which has to be bought seperately for the Xbox controller unless you use Bluetooth.
So there are plenty of things that could be done different, ranging from different features to better build quality.
