C++ is unironically my favorite language, especially coding in python feels so ambiguous and you need to take care of so many special cases that just wouldn’t even exist in C++.
Starcraft was also supposed to be a Warhammer 40k game iirc.
How do you make it work? I’ve been in a few but after a while the heartache from missing them gets unbearable.
I think part of it is a fundamental weakness in the Swedish judicial system where you need clear perpetrators and clear victims, meaning that if you have a group of people committing a crime and you can’t prove that they intentionally cooperated to commit the criminal act or who did exactly what, they may go free (exhibit A). The same goes if you can prove the crime but not the victims (exhibit B).
Of course the bar is higher when it comes to the police, they will pull out all the stops to prevent one of their own getting investigated, but this issue runs even deeper.
But it isn’t exactly the same, not when you’re one of the groups that loses their rights under republican control.
I think the exact opposite, ML is good for automating away the trivial, repetitive tasks that take time away from development but they have a harder time with making a coherent, maintainable architecture of interconnected modules.
It is also good for data analysis, for example when the dynamics of a system are complex but you have a lot of data. In that context, the algorithm doesn’t have to infer a model that matches reality completely, just one that is close enough for the region of interest.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never lived in a place that has at-will employment so I don’t know the details, but I’d also assume that it works both ways.
it’s really unprofessional to present the act of quitting as requiring 2 weeks’ notice
If it’s part of the contract then it’s not unprofessional at all to bring up the terms that you’ve agreed on. My job requires a month’s notice and it wouldn’t be unprofessional for my employer to bring that up if I tried to quit on the spot.
That being said, I don’t live in a place with “at-will employment”, which is a fucking travesty and should never have been allowed in the first place.
No country with allies is independent anymore, 99.9% of the world in shambles.
Yes, in the US. The commenter above was talking about more than just one country.
I’ve mentioned it in a similar thread but Sting - What Could Have Been (ft. Ray Chen) is one that just breaks me down into a sobbing mess every time I listen to it.
One argument I’ve seen against gun restrictions is that you’d be more reliant on the police force which is largely a corrupt gang of stupid bullies with both guns and the impunity to commit murder. I’m for enacting stronger restrictions but this point is difficult for me to refute.
My go-to song for turning into a sobbing mess on the floor is Sting (feat. Ray Chen) - What Could Have Been. Hits very hard.
And you can use it on GNU Not Unix!
Yes, and a force acting in the opposite direction of the distance is an attractive force.
This is how I know you’re a troll:
The Russians have been conducting absolutely horrifying crimes against humanity since the start of the war and, in fact, at least since World War 2. There is so much rape and torture embedded in the way that the Russian military operates that killing civilians, which is unconscionable and horrifying, is the least of their crimes.
The Russians could leave Ukraine today and the war would be over. Full stop. There is no justification for anything else.
