😸 “time to go shit in that flower bed”

This seems like a completely baseless and hyperbolic take gleaned from a single screenshot of a YouTube comment. While I’m sure there are people who only watch critical takes on things (I’ve done it before myself), it’s a crazy extrapolation to say that “movie fans have regressed to this”. Maybe some people are kind of attached to a given franchise but don’t like the current direction, so they keep tabs on it but don’t watch themselves right now. Maybe others don’t watch critics at all. This just feels like fishing for doom where none exists. /rant

I think it’s hard to want to watch something really emotionally intense when real life already is really emotionally intense.

Definitely check out the myst remake, as it has modern movement available (and it’s gorgeous). These two games are basically puzzle game masterpieces and remembered so fondly for a reason. Hope you enjoy them. 🙂

I’m a designer and there’s some truth to this. Sometimes it’s a great new partnership, but sometimes it’s too many cooks in the kitchen if there’s no clear vision holder.

I watched a few of this guy’s videos for a while after my friend passed one along once. I actually agree with parts of this take. He does have some good points about writing and direction, but always goes so far off the rails into his obsession with “the agenda”, or straight up misogyny. I just couldn’t watch them anymore after a few cause of that. Felt too toxic.

What does someone have to do to prove to youtube they own it?

Would there be any interest (or does it already exist) for a community dedicated to indie shoutouts? I picture somewhere specifically for fans and devs to call attention to good games without marketing budgets or their own work in the case of devs.

I share your sadness, but also avoid games that do this. There are many many games out there that aren’t doing this and never would. Reward those developers with your time and money.

Corpos are incapable of learning the right lessons. I wouldn’t be surprised if the take away from this at Sony was to eliminate internal voices that were against the decision so it’s easier to pull off next time.
