A bit of an activist. Fond of empathy.

I do wonder if it’s going to be HC viable as well.
Sad to see 'cause it feels like we need Pirate Parties more than ever.
What I’m saying is the timing on these memes about past European imperialism make them look absurd with what’s happening in Europe right now. All the countries listed in the meme are helping a country fight back an imperialist, expansionist warmongerer.
There’s a lot of newly found natural resources in southern and eastern Ukraine. It’s funny how the same “imperialists” are always the butt of the joke while there’s an actual, massive imperialist war of conquest happening right now. E: testing if editing federates this.
This thread stopped federating for some reason so I’ll reply to myself:
How different is neo vim from regular vim?
Functionally it’s pretty much identical. For the user the difference is in the added features and development model. Neovim’s development model is not centralized to one person and makes real progress. Vim on the other hand is much more a pet project of its creator and seems to get new features only if it starts losing users over to Neovim. Using Vim you’re always going to be behind the curve and under the whims of Bram’s decisions. Neovim integrated Lua as a first-class language for configuration and it was then that Bram had to do something about vimscript, but opted instead to create a new, backwards incompatible version of vimscript, another bespoke language. I very much advocate making Neovim the norm instead.
I think anyone who does programming should at least give Neovim a good shot. Like, dedicate a few months to get a feel for the basic controls, use relative line numbers to jump to lines, f and F to jump to spots in lines, ciw ci" etc. to change stuff. If it’s not your thing then fine, but learning Neovim is like switching from clicking file -> save to ctrl+s, but with everything.
You really don’t need a mouse at all and in the end you’ll get to make changes as fast as you can think. It’s a language you speak through your keyboard to your editor and things just happen once you get fluent. E: checking if editing helps this thread federate better.
Concerning Ireland.
A city in Philippines.
There was a time when Russia was pushing the envelope more. There was a time when US television channels were self-censoring t.A.T.u girls kissing on stage. Putin did the country dirty in so many regards.
The map system is so good for this. If you manage to get the bewildering learning curve, it’s so nice to come home from work and spin a few maps to relax and pick up loot. PoE is so overwhelmingly easily my choice as well.
I didn’t say the US should spend more, but Europe. Speaking as a European. E: trying to see if editing helps this federate.
Well that’s what I’m saying. European countries are giving all they’ve got to give while the US hardly breaks a sweat, yet the US provides a disproportionately large amount compared to the rest. Europe would be in a lot more trouble without the US, once again.
And I agree the UK deserves a lot of credit for pushing the envelope with tanks and long range and being the security provider for Sweden and Finland during the application process.
This has been a major reality check for me personally. For years I shook my head at the gargantuan US military budget thinking it’s ridiculous. Fast forward to February 2022 and I realize it’s the US once again cleaning up when Europe shits the bed. Ashamed, thankful and thoroughly convinced we need to spend a whole lot more in defense as well.
The Communism part seems to be mostly a red herring, it’s added flavor at most. The central core tenet seems to be an anti-American standpoint with whatever authoritarian/dictatorial regime that fits it. Seemingly regardless of political alignments, and regardless of contradicting views from what they claim to represent.
They often purport themselves anti-fascist, but this can be viewed much the same way as the DDR called their Berlin Wall an “Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart”.
From what I’ve seen, apart from Snake Island, they’ve made small gains at the very edges of the battle line but lost a City at the heart of the eastern battle. From what I’ve read, they’re trying to form a bigger counteroffensive right now and have been urging Ukrainians to evacuate from occupied territories before the real battles commence as it’ll get ugly. They’re also getting another big batch of tanks from Poland.
All the expert opinions I’ve seen have reduced the situation in the east to a stalemate and possible Ukrainian regains in the south. Also, with how much I hear about Ukrainians being very disorganized at the start and with the further lack of any weapons apart from their own, it’s odd to claim the Ukrainian army was at its peak. The Russians seemed to have simply failed miserably trying to take over the entire country quickly.
I think the original question could be about the protocol. Why not use Matrix as the protocol for the project? No one is doing the work to bring a Matrix-based Discord alternative because they’re a) on Discord b) creatin IRC face-lifts like Element c) refusing to quit IRC d) making projects with bespoke protocols like this one. It’s incredibly frustrating.
