You are giving him too much credit (i.e., assuming he has a well thought-out coherent connection to those symbols instead of the being vibes based history). The original crusaders were Catholics, which Pete is not. The current Crusade is a Protestant Crusade and he sees himself as a Protestant Crusader (notwithstanding the catholic imagery he got permanently etched into his skin). The Protestant crusade is along the lines of what Nakoichi laid out - they conscript Jewish foot soldiers as functionaries within their Protestant theology to crusade the holy land for the protestant end-times which requires “Jewish” control of the land.
You mean like now?
The two of them do a YouTube interview together basically every week on a channel called dialog works. You should check them out.
This cannot be real. People go to school just to try to learn to write dialog this tight.
Throwing my hat in for not resigning. The situation was messy but your handling of it and overall respectful tone and willingness to engage in good faith is what good leadership is. The site needs that and it is in situations like this where it is proved.
One of us! One of us!

It’s turtles all the way down
Unfortunately, I’m linking to NATOpedia for the second time today ( ):
But as for the beginning of its prevalence:
Just for the record and not one way or the other on the substance of this entire thread:
I really respect how you’ve kept your cool up and down this thread and even retained a sense of humor that is not simultaneously dismissive of people’s concerns. I obviously don’t get to see what happens behind the scenes at this site but your attitude I think is a testament to what ultimately makes this place work even as we struggle through hard stuff.
It might be time for another struggle session about the Star of David and the sensitivity with treating it the same way we treat other nationalist symbols. The star was not a religious symbol in Judaism and really wasn’t very prominent in Jewish culture until the 19th century. The rise of its use coincided directly with the rise of the concept of Jewish ethno-nationilsm aka Zionism.
Yet another example of Zionism as the new antisemitism. Calling this Kristallnacht is straight-up holocaust denial.
What an amazing name
No you aren’t
