Step 2: Provoke said country by crossing red lines until you force an aggressive response

Step 3: Paint said country as the aggressor to all your satellites and convince your satellites that they are threatened by said country

Step 4: Use sabotage to disrupt or sever trade between your satellites and said country to further remove any reason for your satellites to retain friendly relations with said country

Step 5: Prod your satellites into expending all their military assets against said country until they have nothing left for even basic self-defense.

Step 6: Market your military hardware to your satellites.

Step 7: ???

Step 8: Profit.

Right-wing conspiracy theories are a coping mechanism for those who are clearly agitated by the material conditions they are under, while at the same time being unwilling to let go of certain ways that they remain or have previously been privileged.

Yes, and let’s not pretend that western governments have never killed/silenced people for political reasons either. My grandmother could testify that there was a lot of sussy stuff was happening in US under the cover of WW2 and she personally knew people that were being underhandedly executed for spy accusations and whatnot.

Rather then being a perfect match I think this is better described as a relationship where the partner on the right is bitterly envious of the partner on the left, while the partner on the left sees the partner on the right as an annoying and outspoken simp who can occasionally be useful.

In the US, politics basically boils to down to each side competing to convince people that the other side is more communister.
