What’s funny about that word is that it essentially means buddy in my language

I’m not sure why everyone assumes that is what I’m saying. I would say it is a moral failing on the part of the people doing the burning, both those who are active participants and those who simply had the power to do something about it and chose not to do so.
We humans seem to do that pretty often. Library of Alexandria, the Sacking of Rome, Nazi Germany burning books… We’re even doing that nowadays by getting things like the Internet Archive sued and stuff
That must be horrible! Did you move far from your old home? She might try to make her way back there if it’s close enough
A tad perplexing.
I think that’s a mindset issue. If you come at it with “I won’t be able to learn this, I’m too stupid”, you won’t give it your all and you will self sabotage. Besides, nobody is just stupid. You aren’t stupud either! Read up on intelligence types and you will certainly feel like one of those is yours, even if it’s not academic intelligence. Don’t give up!
Don’t give up! You’re close to finishing the tutorial!
Electronics in Eastern Europe are generally more expensive than Western Europe or the USA since the supply chains are longer. You can find stuff in Germany at 60-80% of what it costs in my country, but your price is outrageous and most likely some sort of scam
Same, and it’s honestly a little refreshing
Epicureanism teaches that you will never have enough money, enough fame, enough influence, so chasing after those will never make you happy. Instead, you should focus on fulfilling your needs and fixing problems in your life, getting enough to eat, enough sleep, surrounding yourself with friends and enjoying the small things in life. When you’re unburdened by needs, you reach long-lasting happiness.
So to me, that means earning enough to fulfill your needs is enough, especially if you don’t have to worry about losing your job any time soon
It’s Life by You for those that don’t want to access the link.
Such a shame, I was excited for the game.
I think non-militarized cops, so most non-American ones, are not that bad and are generally more decent people than militarized cops. It’s amazing how much better policing can be when cops don’t carry guns with them all the time
I think many people say stuff like that, and indeed they would for a few months, but after a while people would look for stuff to do, and they tend to turn towards volunteering. That fulfills both daily structure and socialization. Do you think that’s something you would eventually do in that case as well?
Yup, it is. Unfortunately, I had to endure that for close to a year (I will be assigned somewhere else this summer) and me and my colleagues had to carpool. Public transport would have been the best, but for that route the bus only goes twice a day.
Nevertheless, e-bikes are great if your commute isn’t that long!
While an amazing option for city commutes, mine is close to 100km daily. I have no idea if it’s possible to use an e-bike for that, but it would certainly take up even more of my limited free time to do so.
Good luck turning off the corporate AI’s scraping your data from whatever websites you use to profit off of it!
It’s 100% happening outside as well though invasive ad placements, restriction of access to pleasant environments and underfunding of public services and property, like parks and such. It just takes much longer
Join the dark side! We have penguins!
I’d prefer no implants ever if I can help it. I’d only be fine with one if it saved my life. Otherwise, there are just too many things that can go wrong with it in ways our current technology can’t. You can go off-grid now if you get sick of tech, but that becomes infinitely harder if you have a chip in your brain
Not sure, but in my language tovarăș means buddy and camarad (comrade) would be more like a brother in arms sort if thing.
